And now for something completely different!

I made this card for my Aunt Ruth back in early December — her birthday is Dec 23rd — but I just now had a chance to post it.

You gotta be careful with December birthdays — don’t want your birthday card to be mistaken for a Christmas card, ha!

I fell in love with this monkey stamp the minute I saw it and HAD to have it — plus I knew it would be perfect for Aunt Ruth since she loves monkeys too. Happy Birthday Aunt Ruth!

Supplies: Scallop background and “make a wish” by Savvy Stamps, monkey and wand by Rubber Soul. New pink notecard by Hero Arts. Gemstones also by Hero Arts — I love these, they are white inside so stamped messages show up great! Plus they are very professional looking for when you give a card to a non-stamper — think cards for people at work. Memories pink and Ancient Page chocolate dye inks.

  1. Very cute! This card made me think of the monkey in the new Hero Arts Playful Animals Poetic Prints set. I just added that set and the cute dog Newton to my wish list.

I always look forward to seeing a new creation on your site! Thanks for sharing.

  2. I love the Monkey in the Hero Arts Playful Animals Set too!!!!  (I did the catalog cards for those.)  I’ve had the Hero monkey for a while now, but just saw the Rubber Soul one back in November.  Gotta love monkeys!

  3. First off, Happy New Year! Second, love your monkey card! I just bought some HA cards too. Do you punch the scallop layer out? Third, I miss my Hero Arts Club Favorites section! When HA updated their web site, it vanished. Fourth, and final, you take extraordinary photos! I check your site nearly every day because of the photos and cards you post, Lisa!

  4. Hi Ann!

Happy new year to you too!

Second – yep, I punched the scallop layer out.

Third – we’re working to get the favorites section back. Check out this link for the full explanation.

    Fourth – thanks a bunch!

    Hugs,
    Lisa

  5. Oh this card is just too fun! I love the simplicity of it and the monkey is so much fun
