Happy weekend!

Hi and happy Friday! Do you have fun plans? It’s my last weekend before flying out to Chicago for CHA — the Craft and Hobby Association trade show. It’s always fun going and seeing friends and all the new trends and crafty goodness! Are you going? Maybe we can meet!  I’ll be working at the Hero Arts booth from July 25-29 and flying back on the 30th.

I have a bunch of things to do before I leave, but I’ve just got to make time to try and make a skirt from this vintage pillowcase my Grandma gave me back when I got my first apartment.

The idea is from the Betz White’s book Sewing Green.  She said it only takes an hour — and it doesn’t require a zipper — or even a hem, yay! Can’t wait to try!  Plus it will be so great to put the pillowcase to another use.  Picked up that ric-rac last weekend, I think it will add a happy little touch!

Do you have any fun weekend plans?  I’d love to hear!

  11. Can’t wait to see what you create!  Love the upcycling and love the happy colors of that pillowcase!  I’ve been on a sewing kick myself lately. Been creating upcycled felt goodies & lots o’ baby quilts.  :)  It doesn’t help that a fab modern fabric store opened up right next to my house here in Dallas.  Lots o’ Amy Butler & Heather Bailey (I think I’m in trouble!)
