Another anniversary card!

Happy Anniversary to my MIL and FIL! This card was inspired by Shari Carroll’s new book called Layers. I had tons of fun creating it — I just kind of let it happen. There’s a bunch of stuff going on here so I’ll try to describe it! It’s on an acetate (clear) card, so was kinda hard to photograph.

First I stamped the Hero Arts Bold Floral Pattern (all stamps in this project by Hero Arts) on a scrap of tan cardstock and embossed it in white. Didn’t stand out enough, so I rubbed Tim Holtz tea dye, walnut, and vintage photo Distress Inks over it and wiped it off the embossing. It needed a little something, so I tied a bit of dark brown velvet ribbon around it.

Next I rummaged through my paper stash and found this patterned paper by Basic Grey — love their stuff! I felt that this one was appropriate because their wedding colors were yellow and light blue. I trimmed it to fit and then used a pinking blade on one side. Attached it to the inside of the card and stamped Happy Anniversary on it in StazOn timber brown.

Then I figured I’d need someplace to write, so added the light blue square of cardstock. Thought it looked too plain, so stamped the Damask pattern using VersaMark ink.

Still thought it a little plain, so I decided to sew around the blue cardstock and then add a bit onto the patterned part. Then I added the scrap of patterned paper and the two brads.

Sat there thinking, hmmm, it still needs something — so then inspiration struck and I grabbed my Lace stamp and white StazOn ink and stamped the lace pattern on the back of the card. Ta da!

Note: Here are larger images of the outside and inside — hope this helps!

Another note: it was 103 F here yesterday — perfect stamping weather, ha. Not so good for riding my bike, I about roasted, and I went early in the morning too!
