A little over a year ago today — well, it was a exactly a year ago when I created this layout — I saw the Golden Gate Bridge for the first time. What a wonderful day. Jason and I had spent the whole day hiking around the Presidio. Then just as the fog started rolling in we went to the Bridge. So beautiful. Love these lupines, they reminded me of our Texas Bluebonnets!

Beautiful layout! A year ago on May 2nd, I spent a lovely afternoon with my Aunt. My 95 year old Uncle, her husband, had died the night before while they were watching TV. I drove up when she called me, stayed the night with her, then brought her out for pizza for lunch. She told me that she had been dying for pizza for years but her husband never cared for it so she just did without. She then filled me with stories of her childhood and shared Sicilian recipes she remembered her mother making. I wrote notes like crazy. She was very sad, but I was so impressed with her strength in making it through a tough day. They never had children, and I was so glad I was there for her.
