I'm so glad you're here! I'm Lisa Spangler, prairie girl living in the big city of Austin, TX. In case you were wondering, sideoats is the state grass of Texas and to me it's just as beautiful as any flower. Hope you'll stay awhile and visit often. More about me.
I wrote up a list of my watercolor gear for you here — this covers paints, paper, sketchbooks, brushes, books and more!

Have you always wanted to try mixed media but weren’t sure where to start? Well then, I have just the class for you over at Big Picture. THIS is the class I wish I could have taken when I started on my mixed media journey. Come join me.
I’m currently a Brand Ambassador for Art Toolkit and I receive some products for free. I’ve been happily using their products for years even before becoming an ambassador and love working with them.
I’m honored to be a former Design Ambassador for Ellen Hutson and I received some products for free.
I’m affiliated with Amazon, Big Picture Classes, Ellen Hutson, Altenew and Simon Says Stamp, so when you click on one of the links to those stores I receive a small commission. I only link to products that I truly use and love. Thank you so much for your support!
Nice photos , does not look like our milkweeds.
Have a nice day.
Wish you had your other camera – the pattern on the flower is like some medieval English tapestry or porcelain – symmetric and asymmetric themes woven together.
Yeah, I thought about bringing the big camera but it looked like rain, so I brought the point + shoot and put it in a zippy bag.
We do not have anything like that in Illinois. I love the pattern on the flowers. What a great background with the bark. Thanks for sharing.
