Kristina’s Color Challenge #32

Hi all!  Hope you are having a very Happy Thanksgiving!  I’m about to start fixing homemade noodles to take to a friend’s house — a family recipe from Jason’s mom.  They are really good!

In the meantime, I took some photos of a card I made last night for Kristina’s Color Challenge #32. Here’s the challenge:

And here’s what I came up with — it’s cloudy out today, so if I have time + the sun comes out I may try to take some better pics.

I used silver instead of the sand — I’m noticing lots of silver and grey everywhere this holiday season and just had to give it a go.  Plus I was inspired by the candy cane sighting yesterday, too!

This is my very first time participating in one of her challenges — it was fun!  Definitely something I want to try again, I love playing with color.  Thanks for the challenge, Kristina!

The hardest part was getting the photos of the embossing powder that I used to come out in the photos — it’s an iridescent silver — imagine a clear rainbowy look with sliver dots in it — kinda reminds me of antique Christmas decorations.

Okay, back to cooking.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Supplies:  Tree, smooth gemstones, snowflake background, message and cream notecard all by Hero Arts.  Ribbon from my stash.  Stewart Superior iridecent silver super sparkle embossing powder (for the snowflakes) and clear embossing powder (for the tree).  Grey chalk ink by Colorbox, red pigment and VersaMark by Tsukineko.  White lace Stickles on the edges of the tag — can you have too much glitter on a Christmas card?  ha! . Silver glitter paper by The Paper Company. Cuttlebug tag die.  Nestabilities shape die — just got it, love it!
