Rice Krispies Treats cards

I’m the featured blogger on the Hero Club Blog starting tomorrow, and I’m going to be making cards that LOOK like they take hours, yet everyone will still be impressed when they see ’em.  Can’t wait!

I was inspired by this commercial about making Rice Krispies Treats — it cracks me up!

I think I’m the only one on the planet who remembers it tho — I was going to refer to it in my Hero blog post but everyone I asked about it didn’t know what I was talking about.  Sigh.

Anyhow, here’s a  Rice Krispies Treat Card (RKTC, ha ha!) that I made just for fun

I spied that paper last week at Michael’s and HAD to have it!  Look at how the birds’ wings are tree shaped!  Too clever.

Visit the Hero Blog tomorrow for more…!   I’ll have little extras about the cards here, too.

Supplies: Hero Arts message + chocolate notecard.  Patterened paper by Me and My Big Ideas.  Ribbon from my stash, think it’s American Crafts.   Nestabilities die + Cuttlebug.  Stickles White Lace glitter glue.  Corner rounder punch by EK Success.

  1. Oh goody goody gumdrops!!!!!
I am SO looking forward to this week with you! YES!! YES!! YES!! (that would be another ‘oldie’ commercial – the hair conditioner or shampoo one, you know, where she is, uh, ‘very very pleased with her hair products’!!!)

So here’s to a great week of RKTC’s and HA sneak peaks!!!

And, if you have to know, I do have a twisted sense of humor…

  2. I’m with you, Lisa! I DO remember that commercial! Thanks for the memory! (By the way, I don’t get the big deal about RKTs – would much rather have something chocolate) :)

  3. “RKTC”…you’re too funny! I do believe you’ve just coined a new acronym!! Heehee :) I vaguely remember the commercial, though it was pushed waaaaaaay back in the ol’ brain — the youtube vid brought it all back though! Oh, and the card — it rocks!! Hugs!

  4. Lisa, that video was so funny when you compared it to making cards. Ihad to have a laugh. You know maybe that is what’s keeping me from making cards. I am afraid I will end up with a too simple card. LOL Thanks for sharing.
