Last night we went to the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center for their annual Luminations event. If you are in the Austin area, you really should go! Everything looks so beautiful this time of year. And peaceful. And there’s music and hot chocolate and over 3,000 luminarias and you’re bound to run into friends…Hi Minette! Hi Flo!
Let me take you on a little tour from last night.
Here’s the wreath at the entryway next to the pond
There’s just something about luminarias that makes me feel all warm and happy
The courtyard was filled with the sounds of Christmas — there were mandolins playing when this was taken
The moon even added to the festivities
Some plants are still blooming, but I think they’re beautiful even when they are resting for winter. Like the grapevine arbor
The Carriage House was all decked out with trees from local schools and businesses
I’ll leave you with my favorite old oak tree, all adorned with lights
Hope you enjoyed the tour. And hope you have a merry + bright + peaceful weekend, too. Oh and! Try looking at the photos while listening to this. That’s what I did.
(All photos were taken hand-held with my 50 mm lens — didn’t want to fuss with a tripod.)
Wow Looks Beautiful Lisa….I Love Looking a all the decorations and lights this time of year!
Great photos! The scenes look very elegant and peaceful, restful for people while the plants rest for winter.
