Okay, this is a looooooong post — because I couldn’t stop making cards with the new Hero Arts Woodland Creatures set! Some of these are in the 2009 Catalog and some aren’t. This one isn’t:
And neither is this skunk — I think that’s one of my faves (even tho it is ‘shroomless, ha!)
The next three are in — love the squirrel!
And this one isn’t in the catalog
But this one is! LOVE the raccoon…this guy has been our “sneak peek mascot” — thought the little mask was somehow appropriate!
If you don’t have a catalog yet, you can see them all together here in the sneak peek on the Hero Arts blog.
Oh and! Would anyone be interested in seeing a video on how I color the critters? I just use colored pencils — no gamsol or anything like that — gamsol is odorless mineral spirits, and I read bad things about it — seems like nasty stuff both for humans + the environment. Leave a comment and let me know if you’d like to see a video!
One last thing — I updated the slideshow over there in the sidebar with some of the cards I did — still digging through photos, more soon!
Supplies: All stamps from the Hero Arts Woodland Creatures set (page 16 of the 2009 Catalog). Buttons + notecards also by Hero. Ribbons, twine from my stash. Cuttlebug embossing folders. Prismacolor pencils.
Thanks for sharing all your cards. I have these little guys and they are too cute but I struggle putting them on cards. This will give me tons of inspiration. I would love to see the video of the coloring!
Cute Cute Cute Cards Lisa…Love the Little Critters! they are my alltime favorites….
I’v always been drawn to birds and Owls but these little critters are so CUTE…and the Schrooms…they are additional cuteness!!
Love how you color them would love to see what you do….
Of course we want to see a video! I have been drooling over your slideshow! Thank you so much for the peak into what’s coming this year! Cannot wait to see all the individual ideas for the new stamps!
I would love to see a video. After I heard about Gamsol, I wanted to try it, until I read up on it and how it can be bad for humans and the environment as you said. Thanks for the great ideas. I love your cards!! Too cute!
Those cards are all such a treat! Love the stamps and what you did with them. They are my favorites! The new slideshow is great too…I could watch it all day. :) I’m curious on the Four Stylish Owl cards how you created the shape behind them. Was it a punch or free hand designed or ?
Hi Ashley — it was a shape that I designed and then traced onto Hero notecards. You can make one using the bracket charcters — { and } — if I still had it, I would put it here, sorry! Now I have a Nestabilities punch that is similar tho — that is much easier! :)
I love these cards Lisa! I would love to see a video of your coloring. I wanted to do a video too, but I’m having some technicle issues that an iMac would fix…. :)
Hi Jacki — a Mac fixes everything, hee hee! Are you getting one? :D
