As soon as I saw Kristina’s color challenge I new just what I was going to do. I had this new Hero Arts Scallop Flourish stamp sitting on my desk — just begging to be inked + stamped — plus! — I made a new year’s resolution to stop hoarding crafty stuff, and I had been hoarding some decorative pins for a long time now…
The green heart pin is from Fancy Pants designs, and the pale pink pin was saved from a package of Making Memories ribbon.
Here’s a side view — it is a circle card. I put the score on the left side since that side of the card is heavier. Here’s a view from the right.
I also finally had a chance to try out a trick I read about on the Hero Arts Flickr Group from LysaQ — did you know that you can emboss using quick drying chalk ink? Yep, you can! Just ink your stamp first with a clear embossing ink like VersaMark, then apply the chalk right over top. I used clear embossing powder, wanted to give the rouge chalk ink a little extra color. What a great tip!
Oh and! To create a circle card, cut two circles — one for the front and one for the back. Score the circle for the back about half inch or so down from the top — doesn’t have to be exact — apply glue to the top part (above the score line) and adhere to the inside of the front circle. Ta dah!
