Sewing, reading, bumming…

Hi + happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend, I sure did! I finally had a chance to do some sewing — made some napkins to take in my lunches — if you’ve been following me on Twitter, you may have noticed that I’ve been riding my bike the park to eat my lunch.

napkins

When you work from home, it’s great to get outta the house once in a while.  We live near three parks, and I’ve been riding my fixed gear bike to a different one each day.  Fun!

Also made some more napkins +  placemats with the awesome pear + apple fabric that Sally and I found — they match this apron that she made me — thanks again, Sally!  Hugs!

Then I generally bummed around.  J + I watched The Notebook — have you seen it? Made me cry, but what a great movie. (And, J even picked it out, I had no idea it even existed! Gotta love a husband who picks out a chick flick to watch.) And I’m now halfway through Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln. It’s a great read.  Lincoln truly was an amazing man.

And, check out my lucky bamboo all sparkly in the morning sunshine. Think I’m going to have to get out some bamboo stamps + play!

  1. Love the placemats- super cute!

If you enjoyed the Notebook movie, you’ll have to read the book too… and the sequel, “the Wedding” both by Nicholas Sparks :)

Hi Lisa!  Take a peek at fabrictales.com for wonderful fabrics from Japan.  Your placemats are too cute and reminded me of their fabric selection.  Bought some and stockpiling them for now….

  6. Love the napkins and place mats!! I can never find ones that I like and had thought about making my own. What kind of material works best?

  8. OH my!!!  Adorable napkins and place mats!!  I need those for my kidlets – I send them to school with a boring ‘from home’ place mat rolled up in the pocket of their lunch ‘bag’s… I’m a neurotic mom…  the icky tables gross me out (and the school food program)….
    Fun stuff!
