…getting to work with bright, cheery papers and fun embellishments + rub-ons like these! I’m so glad that Heather asked me to be the guest designer for Scrapbook Bakery this month so I’d have a chance to play — and when I received my kit in the mail did I ever have FUN!
I made 6 cards — and there’s still enough papers + rub-ons to make at least 6 more…
Full details on the cards later in this post — first I have to show you what else is in the kit! There’s this awesome clipboard, which I just had to decorate with orange paper + a bird! I plan to put magnets on the back so that I can hang it on the fridge — will match my orange toaster perfectly. (Yes, I have an orange toaster, ha!) The “smile” image is a rub-on, so I sealed it with Claudine Hellmuth’s glossy multi-medium so that it wouldn’t rub-off with use. I also used the multi-medium to adhere the paper.
I rubbed some of Claudine’s classic teal + blank canvas paints along the edges to make it stand out a little. Paints + multi-medium + pen are not included in the kit, but the yummy yellow twine *is* included!
And, here’s a closeup of the birdie at the top, so cute!
Next, while I had the multi-medium out I couldn’t resist punching out circles of patterned papers and adhering them to the Heidi Swapp XL white brads that come in the kit! These really are BIG — I’d guess they’re at least a half inch wide!
Okay, now back to the cards! There’s this butterfly one — see those flowers? They are made of felt + foam. You KNOW how I love felt!
And that dotted paper? It’s bumpy! So cool. And here I used the twine again to make a butterfly trail.
The kit also comes with a white chipboard donut — mmmmm, donuts…! And cute Maya Road buttons in this a sweet little tin. I’m going to save that tin and use it for another project.
Next, here’s a card using those XL brads — I kept them plain on this card for a clean look
The kit also comes with a fun smiley stamp — love the distressed edges
And it comes with velvet ribbon from American Crafts — so soft and, well, velvety!
Last but not least, here’s another card with felt embellies + more rub-ons!
Thanks so much to Heather for asking me to be a Guest Designer — that was so FUN! Want to win one of these kits? Leave a comment HERE on Heather’s blog by Sunday! AND, she has a coupon code that’s good for 20% off your entire order today only (Saturday) on there too!
Oh and! This is too funny — when I wrote this post — before talking to Heather — I titled it “Happiness is…” — and then I got an email from Heather letting me know that the kit was called Happiness! I guess this kit really *is* happy!
