What a rip-off!

So.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of these sunny pillows.  I excitedly put them on the bed this morning and what happened?  Thunder, and lightening and rain, that’s what!

Darn defective pillows.

Updated at 3:00 pm CST: The day just got better, yay!  It’s still raining, but hey at least it’s not thundering and lightening anymore.

But best of all, I got to go to lunch with my friend Libby at yummy Taco Deli, followed by a small excursion to Paper Place. Check out my loot:

Clockwise from top left: cupcake stationary with faces AND mustaches — how cute is that?  Text weight paper that I’m planning to cut into doilies to make a fun summer garland.  A retro desk bell that I plan to use for a joke on J (not sure how yet, exactly, but the Monty Python argument sketch comes to mind — ding!).  A super cool wooden folding carpenter’s ruler.  A box of notecards with drawings by Camilla Engman, have you heard of her?  Love her style.  AND!  Two packs of Japanese masking tape: fun polka dots and shiny silver and gold.  I’ve been kicking myself for not getting them when I first spotted them in Tokyo last fall, but now they are mine at last!  There’s two things missing from this photo: some paper with a woodgrain pattern embossed into it, and a little something else to play a joke on J with. YAY!

Do you have any fun weekend plans?  Saturday I’m leading a field trip at Simpson Prairie — can’t wait!  (Thinking I should take the pillows off the bed first tho, you know?  Just in case.) If you live near Austin or Waco and would like to come and see one of the prettiest prairies around then just let me know. Then Sunday I’m going to the first-ever Austin Renegade Craft Fair — I’ve been wanting to go to one of these in forever — so glad it’s finally coming to Austin, yay!

Hope your weekend is as delicious as a Vietnamese coffee on a dark, damp, rainy day,

My weekend plans include a used stamp sale!  It gets bigger each year, and I’ve found some nice older Hero stamps each time!  Really looking forward to it!  Our bad weather seems to have passed, though it’s not what you’d call warm here, but at least it’s to be sunny.
