Hey there and welcome to my stop on the Hero Arts 2014 Catalog blog hop! So excited for the hop! My card was inspired by the chalkboard look and triangles of the banner lol!!!
If you encounter any broken links or problems, or are just joining in, you can hop back to the beginning over at Hero Arts! If you are following along in order, you’d have arrived from the fabulous Kristina Werner. We both unknowingly used the new Birthday Blackboard stamp — too funny! But it’s all good because we each have a different take on the same stamp! Here’s mine:
I just got the brand-new black midtone ink and HAD to play with it! It’s designed to be used with background stamps like this one — plus there are several other blackboard style stamps in the catalog as well (see supplies below).
Here’s a closeup so you can see it better. On the left is the NEW Hero Arts black mid-tone ink (AF272) — I call it “blackboard black” ha! — and on the right is trusty Memories black ink. :)
So, you may be asking yourself, why do I need another black? Well take a look at how the stamping of the NEW blackboard black on the left has smooth and even coverage, while the one on the right is still blotchy. Amazing difference, right?
I’m still keeping my trusty old black handy though, because I will use it for stamping sentiments. The same properties give you that great coverage with the new make it where messages aren’t as crisp. So ya gotta have both! :)
To give my card that extra little something I white embossed the back with the new Tiny Flags background — I just love this stamp so much! I think it’s gonna have to stay out on my desk, along with the new black ink. Plus it goes with my triangle washi tape! :)
I used the new Birthday Icons set (LP342) to stamp the cake, pressie, and cupcake — just love doing things like this with tiny stamps! And, sharp eyed readers might have spotted the new pink ink that I used on the cake — it’s called Ultra Pink (AD025) and it’s a nice happy and bright pink! Not neon pink — more like Victoria’s Secret pink.
Hop On
Your next stop is the amazing Debby Hughes — just wait until you see what she’s made! Love. It. So. Much! :)
Thanks so much for joining me today! Hero Arts will be giving away several prize packs, with winners randomly chosen from ALL of the blog hop comments received by midnight PST on Sunday, December 22 — so the more comments you leave along the way the more chances you have to WIN!
And thanks so much for all of the birthday wishes everyone! I wasn’t even thinking how today would be my birthday when I made a *birthday* card LOL!!! I just had fun playing with the new stamps and inks!
Supplies
Here are the supplies I used plus some suggestions that will also work great with the new Black mid-tone ink! Today (December 17th!) is the day when these are available at participating stores! Yay!
