San Antonio!

Jason took me to San Antonio on Saturday for an early birthday present. It’s about a 90 minute drive from Austin, so we don’t go there that often — I think it’s been 3 years since the last time we were there.

First stop was Stamp Antonio — my favorite stamp store in Texas! It’s a great store with tons of cool stamps, paper, ribbon, ink, embossing powder and more. Everyone there is so nice and friendly too! They were having a sale and demos. One of the demos was where I got the idea for making all these cards! They are like giant matchbooks — too cool!

Next we went to the Riverwalk to hear the caroling and see the lights. We were planning on going for a boat ride but the lines were way too long. I didn’t want to stand in line with my ankle the way it was, so we had supper at a Chinese restaurant and ate outside so we could watch the boats from there. Heard lots of caroling and soaked in the lights! The lights are all strung in the bald cypresses along the river — it looks so pretty!

No trip to San Antonio is complete without seeing The Alamo, so we took a short walk over to it. Two guys were playing bag pipes, they were good! Although it kind of clashed with the mariachi band that we heard earlier!

What a great day! Thanks Jas!!!!

And I finally made a dent in my Christmas cards!

Supplies: All patterned paper by Memory Box. Retro border by Hero Arts, snow globe by Rubbermoon, happy holidays saying, mug, present, and present border by Memory Box, tea bag and mini tea cup by Stampendous. Let me know if you’d like directions on how to make the matchbook cards. Once you get in the groove of making these they go really fast!

  3. Had fun! Bald cypress is a native tree that can grow to immense sizes along waterways. Most were cut down during settlement times for lumber, but some large ones survived.
