Eat cake!

Here’s the card I made for my Dad’s birthday yesterday!

He loves alligators, and when I found this alligator stamp by Claudia Rose about a year ago I just KNEW I was going to use it for his card! So guess this card has been a year in the works. I found the tiny cake by All Night Media 2 months ago and that’s when it all came together in my mind — I just had to stamp it! The tiny cake actually has “Happy Birthday” underneath, but I didn’t ink that part for the card front — I used it fully inked on the inside though.

Other supplies: The polka dot background stamp and the “Happy Birthday to You” are both by Hero Arts. I think the alligator looks pretty festive on the dot background. The lime ink is VersaColor pigment ink by Tsukineko, and the brown is VersaFine vintage sepia, also by Tsukineko. This was the first time I tried the VersaFine and I love it — it really kept all the detail in the images. The notecard is by Fabriano. There’s clear glitter on the cake candles, kinda hard to see but I think it added the perfect touch — I don’t like to use alot of froo-froo stuff on masculine cards, but this seemed okay. Happy Birthday Daddy!
