We got our tree last weekend — an Eastern Red Cedar — finally got a tree stand last night — an elf must have taken our old one, because we couldn’t find it. We’ll be putting it up today — yay! Eastern Red Cedars are prairie invaders around here. A friend cut ours from a local preserve in an area where they are starting to crowd out the prairie — as you can see from this pic.
Wow does it smell good. And it feels good to have a “locally grown tree” — and help solve another problem at the same time to boot!
