Stamping Washi Tape

As soon as I spied this faux bois tape by A Muse I knew I had to have it to make my Dad a Father’s Day card. And I gotta tell ya, I giggled the whole time I made it!

I think tape makes the perfect embellishment for “guy” cards — it’s not too frou-frou like ribbon — and just forget flowers for my Dad, ha!  And it adds that “little something” so that the card can be simple, yet no way it’s boring.

Supplies: notecard and envelope from Paper Source, deer stamp (love!) and woodgrain tape from A Muse, celadon washi tape by MT, another typewriter font (that name cracks me!) and bark ink by Tsukineko (thought that was fitting).

And the tape that I added to the photo? That’s a free download from Katrina over at Pugly Pixel. I just discovered her blog a few days ago, and I am totally smitten. So much good stuff!

Do you have any tips for making cards for guys?  I’d love to hear!

AND!  One more thing before I go!

My friend Piper over at One Sydney Road is hosting an alphabet walk blog hop — check it out and join the fun!

  1. Oy! This is too fun! I’m loving tape more than I ever thought I would! And you keep sharing these free downloads… I get no work done b/c of you my dear! Lol! Keep ’em coming! :)

  2. I LOVE the tape for guy cards! Lisa you are so right? I think I have some guy card tips stored in my brain, but I’ve been in college mode for the last couple of months. When they resurface, I’ll come back and comment. I’m working on an order for 100 cards for guys to give to guys so I’d like to see all the comments and tips you get. Great work as always…

  3. Great use of that tape!  I always have to put hardware on my masculine cards (cause I have a hard time not putting any embellishments on my cards).
