I baked a (gesso) cake!

divya-cake-full

I’ve been having so much fun with gesso that I just can’t stop!  Here I used it to ways — to make the cake icing and to do a transfer of the writing.  So fun!  Can’t believe my friend Janani’s daughter is going to be sixteen.  Wow do I feel old. :)

Supplies: Adobe Illustrator to create the text — I used this tutorial. The font is Marketing Script — love it!  Hero Arts Lace Frame stamp and pink pearls.  Flower punch by Martha Stewart.  Fabriano notecards. Scrap piece of chipboard to gesso — I just cut it freehand.

And!  Here’s another trick that I love to do: I punched some extra flowers to make confetti to put in the envelope.  Love putting confetti in cards, just ask my family. Hee hee!

  6. I love that!  I’ve been touching up a canvas with gesso today, so I was curious to see the cake.  It’s great that you’ve been able to get it so thick, it really gives texture to the cake. Yummy!
