Make-It + Mail-It Challenge #1

Hi you guys! How’s your week going so far? Mine’s had some ups and downs, but seeing all of the entries coming in for the first ever Make-It & Mail It challenge have really made me smile. (There’s gonna be some mighty happy mailboxes, yeah!  And! There’s still time to play, yay!)

(Envelope graphic and awesome tutorial on how to make a postmark by fuzzimo. Bird clip art from a collaboration between Pugly Pixel and The Graphics Fairy. Thanks so much, all three of you.)

I’ve had a few questions about the challenge, so I thought I’d put the answers here in case you were wondering too.

  • You don’t have to make a new card for the challenge — using a card that you made a while back is perfectly fine. And! I think that’s even better — get those cards sent to make people smile. :)
  • You can hand deliver a card if you like — but mailing is more fun to me. That way it’s a totally unexpected surprise. And it sure is great to see something besides bills in the mailbox, don’t you think?
  • I like to mail extra thick cards in padded envelopes — that way they don’t get mashed.
  • If you’re in the US, you can mail cards and letters to other countries just by putting on proper postage and popping them in the mailbox — no trip to the post office required. Here’s a handy link to calculate postage.

Last but not least, I’ve added a new image over there in the sidebar to link to the post for the current challenge. (It has bunches of envelopes from Katrina at Pugly Pixel — love them all!) That way you’ll be able to find it to add your link, yay!

And now a question for you: would you be interested in a badge for your blog saying that you entered the challenge? Let me know, I’d love to hear!

Now, stop reading this post and go and Make-It and Mail-It!  You only have until Monday to join in the fun! :)

Hugs,

Thanks for the inspiration!! I needed to make a card for my birth mother to remember her for Mother’s Day ( I don’t think of her as a mother to me, but I usually send a thinking of you card to her).

In in my 70’s and need some help with an anniversary idea for my wife and can’t figure out how to make a stamp. I posted on fuzzio site. Would you be willing to make a stamp with 4/15/2015 phoniex Arizona . We are going to finally retire there. Thanks for considering.

    1. Hi Andy I emailed you! I don’t make stamps myself but I sent you a source :)
