Fastest birthday card ever!

As I was heading out the door to PT for my knee this morning I remembered that it was Anthony’s birthday. I needed a guy card, stat! I spied a Paper Source bag that I’d been saving because I love the colors — aren’t they happy and summery? Next I grabbed a pair of scissors, two of my favorite stamps, inks, glue and ta dah!

A guy card in less than 10 minutes! Whew.

It’s hard to tell from the photos, but I used Tsukineko’s VersaMark Dazzle ink in frost to give the Hero Arts Envelope Pattern background a little bit of shimmer. So fun!

There was no time to break out the big camera, so I used the Instagram app on my iPhone to take the photos. Love this app so much!

And the best part? When I gave the card to Anthony at PT and he loved it, yay! (He’s one of the assistants, he’s always joking around and makes the torture a little more fun.)

Many thanks to everyone who’s been asking about my knee — I have a partial tear of my ACL and it’s slowly getting better. Going to the doc’s tomorrow, sure hope I don’t need surgery. Fingers crossed.

Hugs,

Wow! Cute card! I need to open my eyes a little wider and see the possibilites in things that are right under my nose!!!! I’m hoping for a No Surgery Needed diagnosis!

  4. Fabulous idea for a quick up-cycled card, Lisa! I love that you cut the circles out of the shopping bag using scissors instead of a punch, it gives those shapes so much character. How fun that it made Anthony happy too! Knee pain is such a bother- no way to get away from it. Praying it mends really quick and you’re back to hiking and biking and enjoying life without pain soon!
    hugs~

I’m a devil for hoarding cute packaging and my “I’m sure this will come in handy pile” is just overflowing!! I totally need to get using some of it…
Thanks for the inspiration, and best wishes with your knee. Late in 2009 and through 2010 I had a bad ankle injury and it was a long recovery process. Just don’t put too much pressure on yourself and take care. It will heal and the pain will lift in time, with your strength and patience. And with plenty of good crafting therapy ;)
    Hugs, Ruth S
