For Mom!

Hi everyone!  Sunday is Mother’s Day — do you have your cards made yet?  If not, here’s a super quick idea using the colors for Kristina’s Color Challenge #51! Here are the colors — aren’t they just perfecto for Mother’s Day?

And, here’s my card!  I wanted to keep it simple so that the colors would shine, but I tried to add little details so that it wouldn’t be boring.

Here’s a closeup of the details — the card base is white-on-white embossed with Hero Art’s new DesignBlock Designer Woodgrain — yum!  Love that stamp!  I used it on the birdhouse too.  Speaking of the birdhouse, love how the door opens on the house — and how the wing on the bird lifts up — FUN!  Also poked some holes around the edges with a heavy duty needle + sewed a place for the birdhouse to hang.

Here’s a peek at the inside — one cool thing about die cuts is that you can easily make reverse images — like the birds

This card is for my MIL Dotty — BIG hugs Mom!  You really are special. Love you tons!  AND!  I’m lucky enough to have a MIL that is also a stamper — we have so much fun together!  Check out her blog HERE — she just started it and I know she’d love to get comments.  :)

Happy Mother’s Day from Jason and I!

Supplies: Design Block Woodgrain, Basic Lowercase Alphabet, Special Mom, mocha and white notecards, and white embossing powder all by Hero Arts.  Ribbon by American Crafts.  White yarn from my stash.  Nailheads by Mark Richards — I colored the ones on the birdies eyes with a dark brown permanant marker.  Bird + birdhouse dies by Quckutz, Nestabilities Labels Two.  Mustard patterned paper by K & Company.
