Dogwoods & Doilies

One of the things I love about making my own cards is how you can personalize them to suit the recipient — and you can use anything for your inpsiration!  Take this card for J’s grandma’s birthday for example — I wanted to create something special for her — inspired by flowering dogwoods, pearls, and all the doilies I’ve seen everywhere! What do you think?

The top photo is not by me — it’s from the Wildflower Center’s plant database, they have galleries of images to inspire you.  Most are unrestricted use, too.

(Supplies: Dogwood and Circle Doily stamps, pearls, and notecards by Hero Arts.  Colored with Copic markers.  Real doily is from the craft store.  Brown gingham ribbon by American Crafts. Old Paper Distress glitter glue by Ranger.)

And!  If you are in the Austin area, the Wildflower Center’s Spring Plant Sale and Gardening Festival is now through Sunday!  I’ll be volunteering there today from 4-7, can’t wait!  It’s always so much fun.  And I’m going to bring my camera — we’re having one of the most blooming crazy springs in years.  I have a feeling the camera is going to see a bunch of action!

Happy weekend,
