Spring cleaning giveaway!

Hi you guys! I’ve been busy cleaning out my crafty area to make room for new Hero Arts stamps (check out the Hero Arts blog on Monday to see them, can’t wait!). I found a bunch of stamps that I have duplicates of, plus some oldies but goodies, plus some buttons and flower embellishments. Here’s just a little sampling:

So, how about a giveaway!

To enter, leave me a comment with something you love about spring! I am going to limit the giveaway to US residents only, as I plan to get a BIG flat-rate postage box and cram it full of lotsa stampy goodness.

I’ll announce the random winner on Friday.

Here’s just a few things that I love about spring to get things rolling: the birds are singing, our wonderful Texas wildflowers are blooming (yep, even in this drought we’re having!), Miss Plum blooms her head off, it’s perfect for bike riding and kite flying, and the wild onions are tender and tasty (perfect for omelettes). Oh and strawberries and asparagus are in season. Yum.

Can’t wait to see your comments! And! For an extra chance to win, subscribe to my blog feed and leave a second comment to let me know that you signed up. Already a subscriber? Leave me a second comment and let me know that, too. Yay!

  6. My favorite thing about Spring….the birds singing…first sign in New England that winter is leaving.

This year what has me most excited was noticing the first buds on my grandmother’s Pussy Willow tree. It was my grandmother’s favorite tree. My grandfather bought it for her back in 1933 and planted it in their yard. I sat with her in her room the day they had to cut it down. She was devastated, as was I. I still remember how soft her hands were as I sat there silently with her and held her hand as they cut that beloved tree down. I loved that tree and the way those cut Pussy Willows would make her smile when we walked through the door with an armful of them.

What I didn’t know at the time is my Uncle cut a branch from it and planted it in his yard. (He now has 3 trees from that one little branch). Two years ago at a cookout he pulled me aside, he brought me into the garage and handed me a bottle with 3 sticks sticking out of it. At the time I had no idea what it was. I burst into tears when he told me. I brought it home and have lovingly willed it to grow for 2 yrs. This year it got buds for the first time. I have never been so happy or excited to see anything. This Spring is extra special because I feel like she is here with me now.

I know this isn’t a list of reasons why I like Spring but it’s a story I thought you would appreciate. :)

I hope you are well. :)

  12. this is my first spring in this house and i have to say, it’s the lilac…i have a big really old white one and a teeny little purple one…they smell divine in the bright spring sun

  13. Oh, how I love Spring! Where do I start! I love watching the bright, fresh green leaves open up on the trees. Just a few days ago I was marveling at a line of trees out my window at work and their stunning chartreuse hue. I love that gardening time is just around the corner … and I can plant my fresh herbs soon! And of course the daffodils and tulips … the joy they bring to me when passing them by on an otherwise drab and boring highway … taking me away from the nuisance of traffic or monotony of the drive. I think I’ll conclude my list with the excitement that Farmers Market season is just around the corner. : )
